You may choose to give me information such as your name, email address, telephone number and some personal information about why you are seeking counselling by completing the form on my website or by contacting me by telephone or email.
How I store information
Emails are kept for 1 month unless they relate to an upcoming appointment in which case they are kept until that appointment date has passed. Emails that are relevant to our therapeutic work, such as signposting information may be printed and kept as part of your client record if we go onto work with one another. If you just make an enquiry and we do not proceed however, I will not keep a client record. Your first name and initial of your second name, email address and phone number will be stored in my phone until we stop working together or until your account has been settled and will be deleted if we do not proceed with an initial appointment. Client records are kept for 7 years and then destroyed.
How I use information
I use information in order:
- To carry out contracts between yourself and me and provide you with the services that you request from me
- To administer my website, data analysis, statistical and survey purposes, testing.
- To enable improvements to the website
- To keep the website safe and secure
- To keep client records if we go on to meet for an appointment
- To run and maintain my business i.e. for financial records
- To let you know of changes to my service
IS INFORMATION EVER PASSED ON TO OTHERS?
The information you pass to me in the contact form or on the phone will be kept confidential except in the instance that you disclose serious illegal, terrorist or criminal activity where I may be required to contact the police. If you indicate that you or someone else is at significant imminently risk of harm I may also be required to disclose this to the police or a GP if I have these details. Some details you give me about your circumstances may form part of your client record should we meet for an initial appointment. I can provide further detail about client records at a later stage or by request.
Information sent by contact form or email is not SSL protected and is therefore not encrytped. Therefore the security of this information is unknown, so you may wish to consider how you feel about sending personal details via email and may prefer to do so by phone.
You are able to disable cookies, which will prevent your visit being tracked. Some cookies are essential for the website to work properly. Like most websites my website uses Google Analytics (GA). This data is used to look at the number of people using the site, how they find it and how they journey through the website. It also records your IP address, which can personally identify you. Google do not give me access to this.

You can request access to the personal information that I hold on you and except in limited circumstances when I am not permitted to do so for legal reasons, I will provide this information to you within 30 days.
If you feel that any information that I hold about you is inaccurate then you are able to ask me to update your information. If you want me to delete your information then please do so in writing and I will endeavour to do so unless I need to keep it for legal, professional or internal business purposes.
